I had long heard about Palaios (Old) Panteleimonas at the roots of Olympus Mountain in Macedonia, Greece. A small village which was abandoned in the 1950’s by its inhabitants who moved lower to a new place. However, at the beginning of 1980’s the village was revived. The stone houses started being rebuilt and life came back to the village. What a story! Please watch the brief photo slideshow and share it freely if you like it. This is Greece how I perceive it, away from cliches. And you can’t possibly fit all this beauty in a couple of photos… can you?

Ομολογώ ότι είναι η πρώτη φορά που δοκίμασα να πάω στην Ανάσταση με τη φωτογραφική μου μηχανή. Θέλησα να δοκιμάσω αν οι εικόνες που έχω στο μυαλό από την Ανάσταση μπορούσαν κάποτε να βγουν προς τα έξω. Σε όλους έχει κάτι να πει αυτή η μοναδική στιγμή. Φέρνει στο νου χρόνια παιδικά. Τους φίλους, τους δικούς μας ανθρώπους. Την παιδική λαμπάδα. Ήμουν βέβαιος ότι πολύ δύσκολα θα μπορούσα να μιλήσω με μια φωτογραφία. Σαν ανάμνηση στο μυαλό μοιάζουν όλα ιδανικά. Κι όμως μου συμβαίνει συχνά… η ζωή να δημιουργεί τα σκηνικά που θέλω, ακριβώς επειδή τα αναζητώ! Και σαν από σκηνοθεσία, ο κόσμος …

Ι frequently participate in photographic competitions, so as to continuously improve… But this time it was different! Without ever knowing, my submitted photos were published at the International Photobook “Travel Holiday Photographers of the Year”! And I got to know all this from Grant Fraser, a good friend and great photographer that I met in Facebook. Grant actually sent me the Photobook as a gift!! It is an answer to all those who say that Facebook and other social media, do not build friendships but make people lonely and strangers. To me it happens the opposite way! Each one of my Facebook friends is unique…! And Grant proved it! Dear friend, I thank you very much for that…
