Απέκτησα (απρόσμενα!) τον τίτλο του Licentiate of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (London)!

Αυτό το Σεπτέμβριο είχα ένα ατύχημα που δυστυχώς με καθήλωσε. Εν μέσω αδράνειας (και χαμηλού ηθικού…) έστειλα μια σειρά από φωτογραφίες γάμου του προηγούμενου έτους, σε μια διαδικασία “Mentoring” του διεθνούς Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP – London), για να δω πως “στέκομαι” φωτογραφικά. Αν πήγαινα καλά στο αρχικό Mentoring, σκεφτόμουν στην συνέχεια να υποβάλλω το panel επισήμως, για να διεκδικήσω τον τίτλο Licentiate (LSWPP) μέσα από διαδικασία αξιολόγησης από σειρά κριτικών επιτροπών κλπ. Είναι μια βήμα-βήμα διαδικασία απόκτησης πιστοποίησης για φωτογράφους, που αναδεικνύει την υψηλή ποιότητα των φωτογραφιών τους και το επαγγελματικό τους επίπεδο. Ωστόσο, σήμερα έλαβα επιστολή από το SWPP που με ενημέρωνε ότι “αντί για κριτική Mentoring”, οι φωτογραφίες μου θεωρήθηκαν “επαγγελματικού επιπέδου” που “αποδεικνύουν την ικανότητα δημιουργίας εξαιρετικών εικόνων” και προτάθηκα απευθείας για τον τίτλο του Licentiate, χωρίς να χρειαστεί άλλη διαδικασία αξιολόγησης!!! Είναι προφανές ότι ενθουσιάστηκα!!! Στο SWPP είναι μέλη 67 Έλληνες φωτογράφοι, εκ των οποίων 8 έχουν αποκτήσει τίτλο Licentiate ή Associate. Από σήμερα, είμαι ένας μεταξύ των οκτώ! Το φωτογραφικό πάνελ που μου απέφερε τον τίτλο του Licentiate είναι το πιο κάτω. Πλέον Γιάννης Λάριος, LSWPP  🙂

This September I had an accident which unfortunately kept me off for a series of weeks. During this period of inactivity and low moral, I decided to send a series of last year wedding photos to the “Mentoring” programme of the International Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP – London), so as to check where I “stand” photographically. If the Mentoring outcome was positive, I would then submit the panel for official evaluation for potentially being qualified as a Licentiate (LSWPP), through critiques by a series of boards. It’s a step-by-step process of qualifications for photographers, which ensures the quality of their photos and their professional standards. However, today I received a letter from SWPP stating that “occasionally, when one of our mentoring team reviews a member’s submission they recommend that the panel be forwarded for immediate consideration for qualification…. This has been the case with your submission and we are therefore delighted to inform you that the images submitted have been accepted as being of professional standard and demonstrate your ability to create images of excellence and Licentiate of the SWPP has been recommended“!! Which means that without any further process, I have been directly awarded the qualification of a Licentiate!!! You can certainly imagine my surprise and great joy!! SWPP boasts 67 Greek photographers as members, out of who only 8 have Qualifications of Licentiate or Associate. As of today, I am one among the eight!
